For stand alone XP PCs and Laptops:
1. Do you know of a registry edit that removes STAND BY from the list of
shutdown options?
2. Do you know of a registry edit that removes PAUSE from the printer options?
3. Is there a way to easily download all the crictical updates onto a cd so
that they can be applied to machnies without connecting them to the network?
Thanks for any replies.

Here's the one that removes Standby from the shutdown options:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ACPI\Parameters]
"Attributes"=dword:00000070

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download updates using the Windows Update Catalog and the Security
Bulletins.
