It is perfectly normal to have several svchost running at the same time.
Several processes depend on it, hence the reason for several instances. I
have 6 running as I write this.

| hi, thanks in anticipation for looking at my query. I was running google,
| left my pc for a while then returned and it had gone back to sign in and
it
| said I had 3 programs running when I only had google running. forgive my
| ignorance but what does that mean? I searched for this and read that if
you
| have more than one svchost.exe running it meant something else was
occurring,
| I have 6, 1 local service, 2 network service, and 3 system. Is this
related
| to my first query? can anyone help me understand? thanks
