I am having a lot of trouble with remote desktop (RD). I use a Lenovo
ThinkPad running Windows XP (SP3) to access a Lenovo desktop PC also running
XP (SP3). I have 3 recurrent problems:

1) The connection becomes extremely slow sometimes. If I close and open RD,
the speed temporarily improves. If I reboot, the speed also temporarily
improves. When I reboot, the improvement last longer than when I just
restart RD.

2) My session freezes. As with #1, restarting RD or rebooting temporarily
solves the problem

3) Sometimes I cannot connect and the only solution is to reboot the remote
PC (which means that I have to travel to the location of the remote PC or
enlist a coworker)

I suspect that these problems have been discussed elsewhere in this
newsgroup and would be glad to read the earlier discussions if someone can
point me to them.

Also, is it likely that the 3 problems are related?

Thanks.

Ensure that on all machines involved the latest motherboard chipset, video
device and network device drivers are installed from the individual
manufacturer's of each product.
