3.5" drive

Since upgrading to XP Professional the 3.5 drive has been
giving trouble. It says every disk I put in is
unformatted. Then when I try to format it either says
that some other program is using the drive and it can't
format, or it will start the format and say that Windows
is unable to finish formatting. Has anyone else had this
problem? Please help....
