Hi,

Do modern PC's have to have 3 1/2" floppy drive in them? I would like to
replace mine
with a LS-120 Drive from my old computer. (I could'nt add the LS-120 to the
set-up
as I'm out of power conectors from the PSU!)

Do they HAVE to have any external drives in them? No.
Do some people have a requirement for one drive or another? Yes.

It's a question you have to ask yourself if it is your computer or one you
are pseccing for someone.. Do they need "this drive" or "that drive"?

You can purchase additional power supply connectors from any computer store.
They simply plug into one of your existing power supply connectors, and the
other end contains several additional connectors. Cost is only a couple of
dollars.

You can get a Y connector for the PSU (molex) cable for $2.00.

Many new computers are being sold without floppy drives. However, many of
those customers wind up buying a USB floppy for the [few] times they need
one...

Most LS-120 drives read/write 1.44 MB floppies as well as the LS-120.
However, depending on the individual computer BIOS and LS-120 driver, it may
or may not be available as a boot device (which shouldn't make any
difference if you have the XP CD for emergency booting).

Just use an appropriate y connecter available from any
PC store or even RadioShack. Tell the tech what you wish
to do, they will help.
