Hi all,
in the registry setting HKLM\CurrentConrtolSet\Control\Session
Manager\Memory Management you can adjust the second level cache memory (L2
cache) with the value SecondLevelDataCache.
Now, I'm running a dual Xeon 3.2GHz 533FSB processor system with, each
processor with 512 kb L2 cache and 2MB L3(!) cache. What am I supposed to
fill into this setting? 512? or 1024 (2 times 512, each processor 512)? or
2048 (2MB L3 cache)? or 2 times 2048? or even 512+2048=2560? or even 2 times
that (=5120)??

Thanks for advice,
Rene

If the registry has it wrong, then for specs go to intel.com for listed specs
on the processor. You can download the processor id utility to see what it
runs
at.

well, I know the specs for my processors very well. Like I said, 512kb L2,
2MB L3, each of the two processors. Tthe question is rather if this
particular registry setting ONLY refers to the L2 cache, or does it also
take L3 into account, and also, if it has to be set for one physically
installed processor or two or even four (regarding hyper threading).
