I want to have FrontPage 2003 create and connect to an Access database.
After the form has been created and the page saved as an .asp file, the Form
Properties dialog box is different that that shown in about five different FP
books and as described by the MS online Help text. Server extensions are on
and the form was working to deliver both a text file and an e-mail before the
attempt to switch over to a database.

I am teaching a college E-commerce class and this is making me look like
like a monkey. I verified the same problem exists on all of my student's
laptop's so the error is not in my application or with my computer.

I know there are workarounds, but I would like for the program to work as
advertised and explained in textbooks. This is my 2nd try for some help.
The problem has some pretty good computer teachers confused.

I'll try to be more specific. When I open the Form Properties dialog box in
my attempt to have FP create a db, as all the books indicate it will do, the
dialog box that appears is very different than the one shown in all the 3rd
party books (from intro to college level, full function textbooks approved
and used across the whole country). I have looked for a book that might
explain why this dialog box is different from what is expected/shown.

On the first page of the dialog box, there is an NOT option button to create
a new Access db as the books indicate it can. There is a list box option to
send the results to a existing db There is an options button leading to
another dialog window, but it, like the first page of the dialog, is also
different. From this experience I see no way to have FP create a new Access
db.

Thanks for the effort, but I've not yet solved the problem. If ANYONE has a
reference to this problem or a book that explains how this different dialog
box works, please feel free to respond.

AS a teacher, I have a message for all newer, struggling web creators. This
problem is an example of how people who have a pretty good idea of what they
are doing can get very stuck and need help. The lessons this problem teach
are: to keep on working the problem, don't get so angry you put a fist
through the monitor, be grateful for all help you get and most of all, don't
think you're a dummy just because something doesn't work ... "it" might
occasionally be the program or other technical something!

Snap. My FP2003 does not have that either, on the FIRST page of Form
Properties.
Select the Send to Database radio, then click the Options button, and then
there is an option to create a database.

As I was writing this reply, a copy of "Microsoft Office 2003 ... Inside
Out" published by Microsoft Press was delivered. I assume Microsoft is an
authority on Microsoft. Page 880 illustrates the very same dialog box as all
of my other references. That illustration is very different that what I get
(shown on the new web page I have referenced) when I open the Form
Properties. I have searched and cannot find the dialog box for what I am
trying to do.

If the tone of this message indicates some frustration, then please
understand I am very grateful for everyone's help and the frustration is not
directed towards your help!

You need to click "Send to Database on the first screen, however I see that
radio is greyed out.
Check Tools->Page Options - Authoring tab
and ensure the box "Browse time web components" is ticked.
