I attached my pc to a new router and got a message from the router saying a
third party router on my pc. My anti virus software (mcafee & Antivir) does
not detect anything malicous.

Clearly there is something on my pc acting as a router - is this normal?

I use XP Pro (32 bit), fully up to date with updates.

Can anyone explain this and offer a solution?

Thanks!

Zap

"a third party router on my pc" was what?

Connected? Found?

What was the exact message that was displayed?

When you say attached my pc to a new router have you removed your old
router?

It's all in the details
