I have setup my computer new and imported the pst file to the computer. When
I imported the file it has created, as normal, a temporary 2nd file below.
However, this time it hasn't deleted it after the import process was
completet. If I now want to close it manually or delete it I get the
following error message.
THE OPERATION FAILED. AN OBJECT COULD NOT BE FOUND.
How can I get rid of this file? Thank you in advance.

Create a new profile via the Mail icon in Control Panel, start Outlook with
that profile and OPEN (don't import) the other PST (and any others with data
you want) and copy what you want into your new profile.

trying to import the data has caused your problem.
