I've a server with two nics. Today I've connected the second, previuosly
disconnected. The two nics are on different subnets, phisically on the same
switch.

If I send packets frop a client to the second (ping, or an http request), I
can see inbound packets growing, but there are not total outbound packets
change and therefore the client has in fact no response.
If I ping the gateway of second nic from the server, I can see the outbound
and inbound packets growing, so I think the nic is properly connected and
working.

With the first nic all right.

Waht can be? The server has ISA server installed, but I think the problem is
not related to this, because I've tried so shutdown it, and there is no
difference.

thanks

Switches are not Routers. You need a Router to cross subnets,...that is a
*real* Routers, a LAN Router,...not a Cable/DSL NAT box. The Server with
two NICs could possibly configured as a router.

You also need a topology design that agrees with what you are doing,...I
don't believe that is the case from your description.

The configuration is ok. I solved: either stopping isa firewall service,
there is an other related service not present in ISA consolle. If I stop it,
all works. It ISA that cannot manage two external nics...

Yes it can. It just cannot have multiple external NICs. If this other
internal NIC is a different subnet as you mentioned in the first post, then
that additional subnet must be added to the LAT. But none-the-less you are
better off not having three NICs in it in any case.
