2nd HDD went AWOL after XP install

Running 2 HDD System (#1 boot /w 2 partitions) and #2 data
with 3 partitions.

Was previously running well with WIN2K pro until I decided
to do a clean install of XP on drive #1.

BIOS still detects it (and yes, all the cables are
intact), and XP detects the #2 drive as "Foreign" Dynamic
disk and fails to let me access the data.

Tested drive #2 on another system and the data is intact.
The only option that XP gives me under computer management
is to convert it to a basic disk and repartition/reformat
the drive.

I've seen a lot of similar posts but still has yet to find
a satisfactory answer.

thanks.
