System:

AMD Athlon. FIC AN11 board with raid.

What has been done so far:

Installed Win 2000 , SP3. On Raid IDE mirror. No hitch. NTFS. BIOS reports
C: drive with system, CD drive, CDRW drive. Win 2000 can se all these
drives.
Attached 2nd drive (IDE)(D previously formatted NTFS with data files.
Bios can see the 2nd IDE Hard drive drive. Win 200 cannot.

What can be going on. What can I do?

Thanks.

You may need to assign it a drive letter in "Disk Manager" snap-in. (Or use
the "computer management" snap-in)

Best Regards,
Sam

The problem is not with the drive letter. The problem is that Win2000 does
not see the drive.

You mention Raid mirror install, but then go on to indicate you have a
single hd, so what are you mirroring to?
The second hd is installed as slave? The ide cabling is correct / and seated
firmly?
What size is the hd?

Raid mirror is the first drive (2 IDE drives =Mirror) on the Raid channel.
I have one more IDE drive (preformatted with NTFS and with data files on it)
on the primary IDE slot. Thus Raid is drive C, and the IDE is drive D. And
the BIOS does show both the raid and the ide separately. And Win 2000 did
not.

Anyway the long and short of it is that another reformat and reinstall of
the operating system has solved the problem. Thanks to everyone.
