Before reading my long explanation below, here's the gut of my question:
Is it okay for a rubber cable to be touching the bottom circuitry of a hard
drive?

Now, here's my long explanation:

I've got my HP Pavillion, a1540n Desktop. I just purchased an additional
(2nd) Seagate SATA Hard Drive to install and yup, I installed it and it
works great.

Thing is this:

this desktop as it is did not have an internal bay for a secondary drive. I
had very old kits lying around which of course didn't fit in any shape or
form. So what I did is I fit this new drive into where a Floppy should
supposedly go in.

It works great and the drive is in there all nice and snug.

BUT, I'm just concerned about the circuitry underneath the drive and the
health of the new drive. You see, there are rubber cables underneath which
are just slightly touching the circuitry underneath this new drive (no
comfortable way around it). Of Course they'll never be rubbing since it'll
be a long time before I go back there again, and even if I do then I've kept
note of what to be aware of so I never forget.

Should I be concerned? That is, the fact that anything at all (in this case
rubber) be touching the bottom of the drive?

Apologies, I realise now that this probably wasn't the NG to post this at. I
think I've found a more suitable one.
