I have an NT Domain I am working on. All clients are
Windows 2000 Professional <SP3> logging into a Windows NT
PDC running service pack 6a. Recently, one of the Windows
2000 clients hard drive crashed. After replacing the hard
drive, and re-loading 2000 Pro and trying to join the NT
domain...during the account creation process, the client
connection is refused saying the trust relationship
between the workstation and the server does not exist. I
continued the process without creating a user account. All
seems well until I try to log into the domain. When
logging into the NT domain I get the following error
message...The system cannot log you on now because the
domain is not available." It's a frustrating problem. Any
help would be appreciated. Thank You.

W2K should really be at SP4. Do you at least have the ms03-039 patch
installed?
Flip the workstation into a workgroup, reboot, rejoin.
