2GB .pst file cannot be mapped - is there any chance to solve it?

Dear Team, as I know there is no any solution to be able to map a .pst which
passed the 2GB (if the file is earlier then Office 2003). I read on net there
is an application called Advanced Outlook Repair developped by Datanumen (has
to be pruchased of course) which can separate it and then the file can be
mapped.

I would like to ask whether is there any other solution by Microsoft which
can be performed by a HelpDesk remotely or by local support team?

Many thanks for advising.

There is one offered for years already ;-)

You can even use a HEX editor to remove parts of the file to reduce the file
size and then use scanpst.exe to fix the pst-file.
Repeat the process by deleting an other portion and you can recover all your
items from the pst-file.
