Ho do I get 256 color on my Windows XP home Edition?

Right-click on your desktop and select:

Properties > Settings > Advanced > Adapter > List All Modes

Reinstall the graphics card drivers. You may have to go to the computer

256 colors are by default, ther is no need to reinstall drivers, to get it.
only if your not getting higher resolution may you need to reinstall drivers.
I imagine this person wants to play a game that requires 256 colors, and
doesn't know how to get there, but who knows, the post was lacking details as
to why?
