Hi

This is a continuation from my previous post. titled " semaphore timeout
period has expired"

My 250gb hdd is causing probs. I cannot format/partition it using WD own
progs. I have just zeroed the drive and tried to format/partition, this took
1second to do. but in "my computer" and disk management I have just my 2
other drives.

the drive is run through a controller card all connections have been double
checked including jumper. I have upgraded my pc bios and the card
controllers. I have used the Ontrack reg_48bit_lba prog to confirm 48lba?

Using wd diagnostic tool Lifeguard it shows a capacity of 134gb as a
physical drive but does not show it as a logical drive.
My other 2 drives are both in both categories with the correct capacities
for both.

Please help

Keith

Friend had a similar problem. Had to connect hard drive to motherboard, not
separate controller card, to get Data Lifeguard to correctly identify and
setup.

Jerry

Did he leave it on the motherboard, or set it up and move it back to the
controller?

Appreciate your help

Cheers
Keith
