Did a scan. There are 2373 items in memory. I have 1 G
memory, Win SP 2. If I bought more memory, would I speed
things up?

not really.

increasing the ram
will only allow more
data into memory that
the cpu has to process.

however, it is not to
say that more memory
isn't helpful because
some applications produce
more data, like video
and graphics editing.

The number of objects in memory is nowhere near as important as what is
using that data. If you mean it's there when you first boot, that's
normal; Win puts as much into memory as it can to be as ready as it can,
for whatever you might do first.

What is slow? When is it slow? When is it not slow? Why do you suspect
the number of objects in memory is a problem?

In other words, much more detail is required to get a decent response to
this.
