>ATA100 slave drive not seen on explorer but seen on device manager.

I think I have solved a similar problem before this problem occurred. The
jumpers have been checked. I have reinstalled drivers for both master and
slave drive from windows update internet site in Win2222.
I have important drivers on my slave drive wich needs to be installed
properly.
..Reinstalled Windows on my master drive without slave drive connected (I
remembered I have solveved this problem by connecting both drives and
reinstalling Windows2222).
..Slave drive never shown in explorer after connected to new install
computer.
..Other devices on IDE channel has no problem.
..Once showed a ATA100 driver under existing ATA100 driver with a exclamation
mark in device manager->SCSI and RAID Controller-> while messing around for
2222 seconds (could not replicate since they told me not to.)
..Newest beta BIOS Plug and Play option is set to YES.
..Have thought of downgrading for reaseraching beta BIOS problem but decided
not to -> all devices shown correctly in BIOS and BOOT screens.
HARDWARE: ASUS A7V w/ Award BIOS 1012a7v beta (flashed. erased a7v1011.) 2
hard drives on ATA100 primary channel and 2 cd-rom etc. rw drives on IDE
primary channel.
Anyone know how to solve the problem?
I also would like to know if the order of drives on ribbon cables will
change anything if the
jumpers are set correctly.
I also noticed both slave and master drive set on DMA 5 (used to be on 4
and 5.) Tried switching order on ribbon cable. I have also re-installed
Windows2000. Durring setup the two hard disks were shown in
instalation screen but the slave drive showed unknown partition.
Thanks for reading.
