Hi all,
I recently had major problems with my PC & had to format & return to factory settings. My main concern was security, so I set up my firewall & antivirus. Without surfing the net, I then searched for critical updates & found 21, I decided to download the lot in one go, but when I click on add/remove programs, only about 14 appear?
I have checked on the Windows update site, & all appear there on installation history, can anyone tell me if the lot have installed, or whether more should appear in add/remove?
I have re checked for updates, but no critical updates are appearing, so I don`t know if this will help.
Many thanks for any replies.

Ian.

Ian;
Some updates can not be uninstalled.
Only the updates that can be uninstalled can be seen in Add/Remove
Programs.

Hello
If they all show up as installed then that is good.
Not every update will show as an installed Hotfix.
The way I understand it is that Hotfixes are fixes related to the SP1
service pack and updates are fixes for other MS OS issues.

Maybe someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Hope This Helps

And if you would have read the rest of the OPs post you would see the
updates were installed.
"I decided to download the lot in one go..."
So they are now installed.

Only 14 appeared in the add/remove list. Did you read it all?

My friend, not all updates appear in "Add or Remove" - only those that can
be uninstalled. So let's all take a break and have a nice cold one. I'll
have some St. Ambroise, please...

Before I had to format my PC, I had many more hotfixes than this, this is what is worrying me aswell. I know that I had many more entries than about fourteen before my PC messed up.
