It appears that Excel 2000 does not like any year after 2009, as it tells me
date is invalid. Is there a way to fix this ?

What exactly do you do? Enter a date or use a date in a formula? What date?
What is the error message? What date system is your Windows using
(dd/mm/yyy, mmm dd yy, etc) for Long date and Short date?
