2007 Mail Merge not sending some messages

When I perform a mail merge in Word 2007, Word correctly identifies 600 email
recipients - no duplicates, no validation errors. Upon sending, only 420
emails are actually sent. Count is based on emails in Outlook 2007 sent
folder. Word does not return any error messages, and the count in the
'Preview Results' section of the ribbon remains at 600. I can scroll thru
all 600.

I cannot determine why some are not sent. It seems random - the same
recipients are not skipped from one time to the next. If I try a smaller
list of 100 or so, about 1/3 are not sent. Only when I get down to less than
30 does it send them all.

What am I missing?

(Windows XP, in case that's a clue)

Thanks in advance.
Cris

Do you perhaps have a virus scanner installed that integrates with Outlook?
Disable this integration and try again.

Does word report only 420 were sent or do you see this in the sent folder?

Thanks for the suggestion. I could not find one on my system. I also
verified with my IT folks that we do not have any type of virus scanner
integrated with Outlook. Although, I'm not sure that they would tell me if
they hid one somewhere - maybe I shouldn't have told them I was looking for
one to disable...

Word lists the original 600. It's only by looking at sent mail that I
discovered that there were only 420 actually sent.

I should clarify - we do use Zone Alarm, but the Outbound mail protection is
turned off.
