2007 deletes msgs from server even though "Leave Box" is checked?

Just upgraded from Outlook 2000. Unlike before, 2007 deletes messages from
server even though the box "Leave a copy of messages on server" is checked. I
need them left since I use more than 1 computer. Only comments I've found
about this was for 2003, and the problem was supposedly fixed in later
versions.

Also, what happened to the check box to "Receive or synchronize" OR NOT a
particular account?
