2007: deleted items not in bin!

's Computer Specifications

when I delete a message (by hitting delete) the message isnt going to the
bin! How can I fix this simply please? Using googlemail IMAP. It was
working so goodness knows what I've done!!

It doesnt with imap, usually the msg is shown with a stike through, untill
you purge the imap folder
