2003 server with 2007 client -- Categories won't work right?

We use a hosted Exchange Server provider who still has us on 2003 server
while we're runnning Outlook 2007 SP1 at the local clients.

All is fine in general, of course, but we've been told by the hosting
service that one of the main features of 2007 that won't work properly until
they go to the 2007 server is Categories.

This has just become a very important topic to us since we've learned that
the best way to manage our Contacts is with Categories (and not Distribution
Lists).

How can I obtain a thorough and accurate picture of exactly what will be
lacking if we begin to use Categories at this time: what will be lacking now,
and what if anything will be lost or changed once the host does go to 2007
server?

Or should we just resign ourselves to not implementing the use of Categories
at all until the host has upgraded to 2007 server?

Why didn't you ask the ISP what he meant by his remark?
Categories work just fine with either version of Exchange unless they have
broken something in their configuration themselves.

A few techs there told me the same thing. And I've come to rely on their
techs as being some of the best in the field, though of course nobody is
all-knowing.

They said the more robust features (like colors I believe?) wouldn't fully
tranfer/sync across properly due to the lack of support on the 2003
server-side for the newer, more robust features that exist in the Outlook
2007 cleint.

Are you saying everything will work at 100% while my client is 2007 and my
host's server is 2003? And will maintain at 100% when the change their server
to 2007?
