getting message that activation wizard will not work because of no internet
connection but I have one! Any ideas?

Office 2003 or 2007? The 2003 free trial period is most likely ended and
replaced by 2007.

One idea. When a Trial version expires it will not connect to the Net. Office 2003
Trial has long expired from the date when you have downloaded it (not installed it)
