hi,

I'm developing a presentation which involves custom animations. how do i
change the label of the elements that are animated? IOW, powerpoint names
them as "shape 1, line 1" etc ... I'd like to be able to modify the labels so
that they are more meaningful. any ideas? thanks.

Imsite,
Not possible in PPT 2003, PPT 2007 has the selection and visibility pane
where you can name every object on the slide.

Try giving the object a piece of text.... The text will show up after the
PPT name.

And: You can use the tools in the PPTools starter set to do this as well. (I
always forget to mention this one... It is just automatic to use it on the
machines I have it installed on.) Link:

(The tool you want is in the freebie part.)

thanks Jacobs. that worked like a charm!!

the tool in the starterSet toolbox that makes the selected object invisible
works well; but sadly enough, it renders the object untraceable once used!
how do i get around this issue?

also,

1. is there a way of grouping a chosen set of custom animations and make
them repeat until unless specified explicitly otherwise ?

2. can i have a custom animation looping in the background from the start
till the end of a presentation?

thanks a lot for your time.

Hold down SHIFT while clicking the "Make Invisible" tool.
