There are no problems joining a Windows Server 2003 machine to a Windows
2000 domain as a member server.

Just don't try to promote the Windows Server 2003 machine to a domain
controller without performing the domain preparation tasks first. One of
the steps in upgrading the 2000 domain is to introduce a 2003 member server
as part of the upgrade process. See the Windows Server 2003 Deplyment Kit
documentation for details on how to accomplish a domain upgrade
properlyhttp://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...dowsServ/2003/
