2002 OUTLOOK-error message "Messaging Interface returns error"

I am getting an error message when I try to move an e-mail from my inbox or
try to delete it. I have a 2002 Outlook version. The message that I get is:
"The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem
persists restart Outlook."

Even when I restart Outlook the problem continues. Any suggestions?
