Why do the network shares show a red X through them most of the time. At
times I try and access the share and get a network path not found error. I
continue to try and access the share and after the 3rd or fourth time I can
enter the share!

Running Win2000 Server /2000 Clients

Dear Customer,

First, please make sure the server and the clients have already installed
with the Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.

If you have already installed the Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, let's do the
following steps.

1. Disable the Autodisconnect on the server by running "net config server
/autodisconnect:-1" (without the quotation marks).

For more information about the Autodisconnect, you can refer to the article:

2. Check whether you have installed the following applications.
