2000 pro can't access XP

I have a three computer network, 2 desktops running Win 2k Pro wired to a router and a laptop running XP with a wireless adpter. I can see all computers on the network but can't access between the XP system and the 2k system. internet connection are all good. When I try to ping the Laptop from another compter I get request timed out. firewall diable
