When I try to open my Outlook 2000 pst file into outlook 2002 I get the
message "The file is not compatible with this version of the personal folders
information service. Contact your administrator." I have saved my pst file to
my desktop, however when I open the properties and de-select the read only
box, click Apply, then select for this folder and all subfolders, then OK --
it doesn't save. I tried copying my contacts into my outlook contact folder &
it didn't work. Tried Open> outlook data file> and get the above
incompatible message. Don't know what I'm doing wrong and I have not even
gotten to the emails I wanted to import.
please help.

Oh my gosh, you are right. I installed the wrong version (after I had to
re-format my hard drive.) How foolish do I feel? Well, now I have pulled all
of my email off the internet into an older version of Outlook. I just
located my 2003 CD. So that I don't mess up again, can you go ahead and
explain how I should go about pulling my emails out of 2002? I'm asuming I
will need to uninstall office 2002 and re-install 2003.
And you thought this would be easy.
Thanks much!

You will need to clarify what version you are using now and precisely what
you want to do next.
