2000 mapped network drives

Mapped (in tact) 2000 network drives show the
infamous "red X" even though they are connected and
active. It is not a "time out" issue where it comes
after a period of time. I just installed SP4 with no
help.

This is common. It does not usually cause any problems and can be ignored.

Try r-click on the drive and select Properties and see if that clears
the "red X" for you.
