I recently purchased a Dell PowerEdge server w/2 NICs
(used) and installed 2000 Advanced Server for my DC. I am
currently using only 1 NIC in my network configuration.
My question is: What could I use the 2nd NIC for, or what
purpose does it serve to have 2 NICs on a server? This is
probably obvious, but I am new at this. Would this be for
A DMZ, or just setting up 2 separate networks on the same
DC? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

One use would be to load ISA server on it and have one NIC with a public IP
address and the second with a private IP address on your network. This
server with ISA server installed would provide your network with Internet
access.
