(please direct me to correct group if this is misplaced)
I currently have a Windows 2000 Terminal services network setup with 12
servers total (6 TS servers and 6 support servers). My licensing is for 2003
server license, client CALS, and Terminal Services CALs, but they are setup
on a Windows 2000 box and thus appear as 2000 licenses.
I need to upgrade ALL of these servers to 2003 over the course of the next 3
months. Before I start this update process, I know I need to setup a 2003
license server so accomodate the servers I update and the TS licensing for
users that will hit that box and others that will be updated soon. If I move
my licensing over to a 2003 box, will it affect my current 2000 boxes and
prevent my clients from logging in to terminal services or attaching to the
network in general? Or will a Windows 2000 server pull a server 2003 license
if its available, and same for terminal services CALs?
