I am replacing my boot hard drive with a 200gb Western
Digital. The instructions from Western Digital is to
install Windows 2000 SP3 in order for the 200 size to be
recognized. I only have Windows 2000 SP2 and if I use
that the drive will only read as 137gb. Is there any way
to get around this?

48-Bit LBA Support for ATAPI Disk Drives in Windows 2000
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;305098

SYMPTOMS
Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2) and earlier versions of Windows 2000 do
not support 48-bit Logical Block Addressing (LBA) as defined in the
ATA/ATAPI 6.0 specification.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000.

According to this Microsoft page, there is only one way to get around this:
install the latest service pack for Windows. I wholeheartedly suggest you
do so anyway. If this is an existing installation, simply go to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and run all the security updates. If
you're trying to perform a new installation, you'll need to download the
latest service pack, "slipstream" it into the Windows installation, and burn
a new CD.
