Had exactly the same problem, discovered an interesting clue... I tried to
sync a bunch of jpg photos between a desktop & laptop, both running XP.
Several of the files didn't sync - approx. 10 of 185. Turns out, I had
previously opened those 10 in "Windows picture & fax viewer", and selected
"rotate right" from there, which of course re-writes the file to the hard
drive. Checked for odd characters in the title, and also the read-only
attribute. Negative on both counts.
Any ideas anyone??
