Hi all... new SyncToy user and *fully*prepared to be a fanboy since it does
exactly what I want... except...

While setting up a desktop-to-laptop sync (both machines running XP, all
patches/updates applied) and copying over 10 GB of data, I found a very small
number of files (200 out of 42,000) wouldn't sync.

Some of these make sense to me - resource .FRK files that were copied over
for Macintosh files, for example. But there are a number of Quark Xpress
files that won't copy and that doesn't make sense. The error in the log is
access denied, I believe, although all subfolders are set for sharing and no
files are set to read-only.

Any ideas on how to begin troubleshooting? I'm trying to avoid manually
ferreting out the 200 files because they're scattered throughout the folder
hierarchy.

Thanks!

Had exactly the same problem, discovered an interesting clue... I tried to
sync a bunch of jpg photos between a desktop & laptop, both running XP.
Several of the files didn't sync - approx. 10 of 185. Turns out, I had
previously opened those 10 in "Windows picture & fax viewer", and selected
"rotate right" from there, which of course re-writes the file to the hard
drive. Checked for odd characters in the title, and also the read-only
attribute. Negative on both counts.

Any ideas anyone??
