hi,
i have 2 problems:
1 when i want to open the 'documents and settings' dir in c:\,
it gets stuck for about 60 seconds, and then opens.
it's probably a bad sector or something similar.
one probable cause: a power shutdown in the home, during
a disk operation.
i tried error check in the properties-> reset and chkdsk,
but it didn't help.
2 during a windows update the power went down (in the home).
now auto update keeps wanting to install a patch for win live
toolbar. it keeps repeating it.
how to fix these things (without a total reinstall of xp)?
one more question:
i might want to install xp to external drive: e:\. from boot.
and then optionally reformatting c:\
will my xp installation on drive c:\ automatically be removed or disabled?
