Wednesday Afternoon

A client has 2 XP pro comps.

They are connected with a crossover cable.

Both
are using "simple file sharing"
have guest account enabled
have the other comp's name added as a user
have the folders shared with happy permissions

M1 can see M2 and the shared folders, but "Access is denied."

M2 can access M1 wonderfully.

(M2 has the "Authentication" tab displayed on the network connection
properties dialog.)

I need some guidence please.

J

For my 98 comps, the machine name and the logon name are the same.

When I added an XP comp to my 98 network, the only way it would allow access
to the XP comp (from the 98s) was to add the computer names as users on the
XP comp.

I did the same here. A little silly I know. But I am trying whatever at this
point.
