You guys are going to love this one... I had a PS/2 "microsoft basic"
keyboard plugged into my win2k file server (before that it was the win ps/2
natural... which is where I think the problem is coming from), then I thought
it would be a good idea to buy a wireless mouse and keyboard like I have at
home (the exact same type that I have used for the last 3 years). It is the
Gyration Ultra mouse and compact keyboard. The reason I like them so much is
because they use microsoft's standard drivers. So silly me, I figured it
would be "plug and play", however this is not the case. I cannot get either
the gyration keyboard or a totally different microsoft "office" USB keyboard
to work (I wanted to see if the problem was just with the gyro keyboard or
all USB keyboards... it is all usb keyboards) the weird thing is that the
mouse that shares the usb reciver with the keyboard works fine... oh yea the
gyro keyboard and mouse both work on my xp workstaion. so my question is how
do I get the problem fixed? Can I get the uncorrupted drivers off of my
installation disk?
P.S. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers as well as change
the channel on the wireless reciever several times with no luck. It still
throws a code 10 "device cannot start" in the device manager.
I think it may be a problem with the SP4 that was just installed or a
problem with the original driver "standard 104 or MS natural ps/2 keybard" it
may have corrupted or disabled the HID Keyboard drivers... well at least the
ps/2 keyboard still works, I almost got locked out of the system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
