How do I get windows mail as an icon on my desktop?

Silly Question Number 2

Old PC had lots of e-mails that I need....new laptop only has a few since
yesterday...how do I transfer them across?

You can right click on the Mail icon on the start menu and drag it to the
desktop to create a shortcut to it there.
