Hi
I have found a scenario which I acnnot find a solution. We aave 2 domain
controllers in a child domain. The mian DC was removed from the domain using
dcpromo and then rebuilt using teh same name, it was then promoted back into
the doamin. Now we ahve 2 entries in the _ldap._tcp.pdc._msdcs.DnsDomainName
section of dns 1 for each of the domain controllers. I have run dcdiag and
netdiag and all tests have passed and both servers show only one pdc entry (
both show the same server). I have been unable to find any articles about
this so would just deleting the incorrect one be ok?

Thanks

You can delete all incorrect records, in fact, you can delete all records,
and restart the Netlogon service on all DCs, to verify that only the correct
records are registered.
If any DC, registers an incorrect record, delete the netlogon.dns and
netlogon.dnb files in the %systemroot%\system32\config directory, then
restart the netlogon service on that DC. IT should recreate these two files
with the correct entries.

Sometimes, if a DC is restored from backup, it restores these two files
causing it to attempt to register the bad entries on the netlogon.dns file.
