This has always puzzled me. Why is this? They are not identical but they are
close. They both launch Outlook.

One has "general", "shortcut" and "security" tabs. Its target is "Microsoft
Office Professional Edition 2003" and the comment is "Send and receive
e-mail; manage your schedule, contacts, and tasks; and record your
activities by using Microsoft Office Outlook."

The other has "general", "shortcut" and "security" tabs and also a
"compatibility" tab. It's target is ""C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" /recycle" and there is nothing in the comment
box.

I don't remember which one I put there first when I set up my quick launch
but when I delete one of them it always comes back. This is the ONLY program
I have out of about 60 in my QL toolbar that does this.

Any ideas?

One was created manually or is a carry over from a previous version (the one
with the /recycle switch) and the other was created by the installation
program of Office 2003.

The one that comes back every so often will always be the one created by the
installation program of Office 2003. Reason why is that ever service pack
and critical security hotfix calls the office installer. So you want to
delete the one with the "/recycle" switch.
