I created a service call logging database. I have a form that looks up
service calls. You enter the Chain name in one field and then you go to the
next field and enter the site number. It then lists relevant records on a
subform below. The first time I run the query it works fine. If I close the
form and go back in it renames the chain name field on the first record in
the database. We have been living with this problem for 2 years as it was
only one record. Last week, one of the records in the db got corrupted and
showed up as #deleted. I couldn't fix it. I did a repair/compact on the db.
It fixed the record however everytime we do a lookup now and go back in, it
renames an additional record in the database. I read somewhere that it might
have something to do with the autonumber in the database. Anyone have any
ideas?? Are there any outside utilities to either repair or compact the db.
It is 100mb without compression, it is 30mb afterward. We ended up
restoring the data from the day before but we lost 6 hours of changes.
