I have 2 hard drives. C is 14.9 gb. Drive D is 40.9 gb.
Drive C is almost full. Drive D is empty. How do I move
the stuff on C to Drive D. I contacted the computor
manufacturer they told me that my computor came pre-
installed with windows XP and the warranty assistance
does not apply so they wouldn't tell me how to do it. I
am not a computor whiz and can not figure it out on my
own. I also can not run disk defragmentor any more
because of not enough space. Can someone please help?
Thank You.

Open up c:\ in Windows Explorer and review the folders.
documents and settings
program files
windows
system volume information

Those folders, in general, cannot be moved.

The best way to approach this problem is to identify which
folders/files are using up the space. For example,
Empty the recycle bin and use disk cleanup/more options to delete
all except the most recent system restore point.
Then see what you have.

I used a program to transfer programs and their files and it did a
good job.

It is called: Application Mover and is trial ware from:

http://www.funduc.com

The only problem I had with it was a pointer in Quicken that it didn't
find. Was within the Quicken program, not a register entry.

It found all the shortcuts and registry entries and made the
corrections.

I bought the program after trying it out.
