Internet Explorer by default has a 2 file download limit. How ever at a
previous time I was able to adjust it so several files could be downloading
at the same time.

Could anyone tell me how to do it?

It is a Registry Entry that will allow you to do this.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings]
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:0000000a
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:0000000a

I did it, and it works great.

HTH,

Using Registry Editor - I find all the folders in the order you mentioned,
but there are no line lines beginning with "MaxConnections".

Perhaps it should be mentioned that this registry hack is for:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 for Windows 2000
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 for Windows 2000
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 for Windows 2000
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 for Windows XP
<paste>
This procedure is for informational purposes only. Changing the maximum
number of connections beyond two is a violation of Internet standards;
Microsoft does not recommended this procedure for use outside closed
networks.
</paste>

Not to mention that the Registry should first be backed-up, and that the Key
should be exported first before doing any Registry mods might also have been
a good recommendation.

Also, I may be wrong, but, I think this will not work for other OS'es.
Please correct me if I am mistaken in this assumption.

You're welcome Kauflton. ;-)

So, did it work for you, or did it not apply in your instance?
