You have to modify the Registry Keys. Do it carefully.
1. Click Start - Run - type REGEDIT and press enter key.
2. Expand to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\APPLETS\WORDPAD\RECENT FILE LIST
3. Delete the entries from Right-Side pane display as File 1, File 2 etc.
Note that you also have to delete the same entry from HKEY_USERS\Your User
SID\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Wordpad. I will suggest
you to make a search for "Recent File List" and delete the entries for
Wordpad only.
Hope this help, let us know!
A Tip for You:
----------------
You can search the registry by pressing F3 and type "Recent File List"
without quotes and press Enter. Carefully you can delete the Recent File
History for other programs to.

Tip of The Day
=========
How about a "Single Key" as a shortcut? No combination like CTRL, ALT, and
