Hi,

Here's an easy method to solve that error:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_m.htm#16bit

If that doesn't correct the issue, try this manual method:

1. Browse to C:\WINDOWS\repair
Right-Click and Copy the file named: autoexec.nt *

2. Browse to C:\WINDOWS\System32
Right-Click in that window to Paste the file
(Answer yes if prompted to replace existing file)

* Note: If the file autoexec.nt doesn't exist on your system
right click the link below and select the "Save Target As.."
option to save the file in C:\WINDOWS\System32

|I just some new cds. "Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion" is one that I am having
| troubles with. When I insert it into my CD-R drive and click on it in my
| computer, it gives me a message that says,
| "C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEMS32/AUTOEVEC.N.T. The system file is not suitable for
| running MS-DOS and Microswof Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to
| terminate the application." Then at the bottom it gives me two things I can
| choose: Ignore or Close. No matter what I choose it closes and the program
| won't run. I have a windows XP Professional opperating system. On the back
| of the disk case it says
| MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
| Windows 95/98:16 MB RA, 15 MB Free. Pentium 133 MHz. 1 MB SVGA (16 bit
| color). Windows 95/98 compatible sound card. Requires DirectX Version 5.0
| (or higher) compatible drivers.
|
| Please help! I have been waiting for this cd for awhile and now that I have
| it, it won't work!
| Thanks in advance for the help
