I have a data set as follows:

x: 2001, 2004, 2007
y1: 2,3,4
y2: .2,.3,.4

I created a Column chart with the x-data on the x-axis and y-data
represented in the column heights...everythings good. The y1 and y2
data are represented by columns placed side-by-side. I next used a
secondary axis for the y2 data since the values are much smaller.
Excel then stacks the column one on top of the other! How can I get
this data represented by side-by-side columns using two different
y-axes???

Thanks for you help

tom

Hi Tom,

You need to add two dummy series.
Make you data look like this and then plot DUMY2 and Y2 on the secondary
y axis. You will have to remove the extra items from the legend if you
are displaying it. To do this select the legend and then select a legend
entry. Make sure you have both the marker and text selected before
deleting otherwise you will delete the data as well.

2001 2004 2007
Y1 2 3 4
DUMY1
DUMY2
Y2 0.2 0.3 0.4

Cheers
Andy

Thanks Andy...I used all zeros for the dummy data sets, I think that's
what you were suggesting below. It works, thanks so much. Too bad
Excel doesn't allow any of the other 3-D charts to use secondary axes
