Is there something (perhaps in AutoRecover) that creates a file which uses an
existing file's name and tacks a (2) on the end? I have a (novice) user who
says there's only one version of the file (FileXYZ.docx) and now he's seeing
two in Recent Documents: FileXYZ.docx and FileXYZ (2).docx. Thanks for any
help.

Are you sure that there are two different documents, or maybe it's just two
links in the Recent Documents folder?
